Edward's responsibilities at OPC include sourcing investment opportunities and overseeing the underwriting and asset management of its investments.  This includes the identification of potential investment opportunities, supervision of the due diligence conducted on acquisition targets and the implementation of business plans once an asset is acquired. 

From 2000 to 2003, Edward worked in the Investment Banking Division of Salomon Smith Barney.  Based in New York and São Paulo, Brazil, he focused on corporate debt and equity advisory in Latin America.  Notable transactions include a $400 million senior debt raise by the Brazilian National Development Bank (BNDES) and a $1.0 billion restructuring of the US dollar denominated debt of Bank Hipotecario (Argentina).

 

Edward worked from 2005 to 2008 at RBS Greenwich Capital, with a focus on the origination of over $1.5 billion in commercial real estate mortgage, higher leveraged mezzanine and preferred equity investments.  Notable transactions include the $1.2 billion financing of MPG REIT’s acquisition of Downtown LA and Orange County office assets from Blackstone and the $70 million financing of the Disney Channel Building in Burbank, CA.

From 2008 to 2010, Edward worked at Square Mile Capital Management, a $1.5 billion institutional commercial real estate private equity fund.  There he focused primarily on the acquisition of opportunistic commercial real estate and debt investments through the US. Notable transactions include the $58 million acquisition of the Tribeca West office property in Los Angeles and a $33 million B-note participation in the Marriott Waikiki, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Edward has an MBA from Harvard Business School (2005) and a BA with honors in Economics from Harvard University (2000).
